Martin
Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. His birth name was actually
Michael Luther King Jr., but then he later changed his name to Martin. Martin’s
grandfather started a family line of pastors at the Ebenezer
Baptist Church
in Atlanta. His
grandfather served there from 1914 until 1931. Martin’s father has served from
1931 until today. Martin served as a co-pastor with his father from 1960 until
his father’s death. Martin went to segregated schools in Georgia as a
child. He graduated high school at age fifteen. He went to school at Morehouse College and received a B.A. degree in
1948. He went to Crozer Theological Seminary located
in Pennsylvania
and studied there for three years.
