Week of May 14-18
Comments and Suggestions:
Our class has been practicing the recorders. They have worked really hard. In celebration, there will be a performance at 2:15 on Wednesday, May 23 in the gymnasium. Following the performance, Mrs. Ellsworth will give music awards. We will end with our class awards. Students should continue to read for Idita-read.
Reading:
Students will be writing for different purposes.
Spelling:
Spelling pre-test will be on Thursday and the post-test will be on Friday. Don’t forget to put the spelling list on the refrigerator and every time they get into the refrigerator they must spell a word.
Language:
Students will work with encyclopedia data, review suffixes, and outlining
Math:
Students will have a test over Statistics (Topic 17) in Math tomorrow. Students will begin Topic 18 on Wednesday which is entitled “Algebra.” This week students will decide whether equations are equal or not equal. Students will also solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations.
Social Studies:
Students will cover Week 31 and Week 32 this week. In the Week 31 newspaper, students will learn about currency. In the Week 32 newspaper, students will learn about spending, borrowing, and saving.
